1987 Saddle Peak, MT | 7.5'x7.5' Shaded Historic USGS Map

This 1987 Saddle Peak map shows the southern portion of the Bridger Mountains.  The Bridger Mountain range in Montana is famed for its rugged beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities, particularly hiking and skiing. Notable nearby locations include Bozeman, a bustling city known for its vibrant culture and access to outdoor adventures. Geologically, the Bridgers are characterized by their granite peaks formed over millions of years. A difference between today and 75 years ago is the increased accessibility and popularity of the range, with more trails and amenities developed to accommodate visitors, contrasting with a more remote and undeveloped landscape in the past.

We used recent digital elevation data combined with modern rendering techniques to enhance this hand selected, vintage USGS map. Even though the map is 2 dimensional, the techniques applied make it appear to pop off the page.
